What Is Your Skill Level?

If you are new diode laser hair removal it is advisable that you consider the SDL30 first.  This economical alexandrite system is very easy to operate and gives excellent results.  You will only need to set the power output at a level which is comfortable and effective for permanent hair removal procedures. 

Speed of Treatment

You will want to go with a larger beam size combined with greater energy density (fluence) if you are working on large hair removal areas to increase efficiency.  The SDL50 and SDL80 systems are perfectly suited for rapid and efficient laser hair removal and can clear a woman's legs or a man's back in just about 30 to 60 minutes.

How Much Power Do You Need?

The general rule of thumb is 30-180 total joules per cm2 for a QCW Pulse Diode Laser.  Any more power may burn your skin (while doing little 'additional damage' to the follicle). 

How Fast Do These Systems Clear Large Areas?

For the sake of general comparison, we will look at a 120 square inch (moderately covered with hair) treatment area.  This is the equivalent of the average man's chest hair and abdomen hair, or woman's upper and lower legs hair.
